The Saga of the
Orange
The orange
knew something was wrong.
Yes, something was definitely amiss. Had his wife just left him?
And if so, why had she left her coat behind? She always wore that
coat... And why hadn’t she left a note? Suddenly the fridge seemed bigger,
emptier and colder then it had in ages…
The
orange couldn't figure out where she had gone. Things had been so good between
the two of them. He was sympathetic and aware that today's post feminist
orange era was also today's post modern era and just dripping with the
resulting orange irony in which every orange knows everything about what's
going on underneath all the orange semiotic codes, cultural conventions and
orange skin. He was a sensitive, politically orange correct and treated
his wife and her orange orgasms with a tender orangeness...
The
orange gazed about the fridge, he was filled with a tangy despair... It was
then he saw it...
His wife and his best friend, the banana!
As is always the case in these situations hateful words that can't be taken
back were spoken. Someone called someone "a fruit" and someone
called someone "a vegetable."
The
unfortunate subject of miscegenation arose.
The cuckold orange demanded that they leave the fridge and never
return. The phallic banana
smirked… The cuckold orange suddenly felt very insignificant.
The bag of milk nearby told them to keep it down and the vegetables in
the crisper smirked and giggled.
Counselling
Therapy with other fruit couples proved to be, well, fruitless...
Despair and
malaise quickly set in.....
Alcohol helped... Well, no,
not really.

The
Elevator Hug
Here's a
link
to a little cartoon I volunteered to write for. It's a campaign for
a "Virtual Hug."
This virtual hug is meant to
help raise funds for Meagan’s Walk which raises funds to fight paediatric
brain tumours. Meagan’s Walk was started by Denise Bebenek after her 5 year
old daughter Meagan died of a brain tumour 6 years ago. Every year on
Mother’s Day, Denise leads thousands of people to hug SickKids where Meagan
had received such excellent care. This virtual hug remembers her love of
laughter and of hugs. If it makes you smile, I hope you will
consider sharing this virtual hug with your friends and maybe even
consider donating to this worthy cause.
