How does Osama Dustbin Laden’s video appearance help the Republicans? Isn’t this just a reminder that they didn’t finish the job?

Dick Cheney in Hawaii? Only for one reason – to invoke memories of Pearl Harbor and scare the local children.

The election’s too close to call? I haven’t heard anyone say that before!

So...

The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows a dead-even race between Shrub and Yawn. But – and this almost mind-boggling – it seems to be working in Bush’s favor.

“We now know where the missing explosives are, bin Laden has ‘em! It’s all part of our brilliant strategy,” said Dick the Gargoyle to a bemused crowd in Hawaii.

According to the survey, conducted by Hart/McInturff, Bush gets support from 48 percent of likely voters, Kerry gets 47 percent, and independent bad-joke, Darth Nader gets 1 percent. As for me, well, it looks like I’ve fallen off the radar.

This latest poll also states that 98& of Americans are getting sick and fed up with polls; the poll has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.

What a world. You can “misplace” 380 tons of missing explosives in Iraq, your mortal enemy can pop up to mock you on videotape, and you can still be President of the most powerful country in the world. (For the time being, isn’t that right, China?)

When asked whether the Bush administration is at fault and should be held accountable for the missing explosives and the fact that bin Laden is still alive, Mr. Bush said, “No.”
